Orion Students win in Semi-Finals of the Mathematics Competition on Wednesday 13th of April, 2011 at Convent High School. The students representing Orion were:

Orion 5th former, Chronje Albert who won the 100 m at the National Championship Athletic Competition for the Under 20 age group in Portsmouth.
The School has been awarded Gold Medals for five years consecutively at the Annual National Recorder Music Festival. Our recorder ensemble earned Gold medals in the Annual National Arts Festival and one student received a Silver Medal in the vocal section of the Annual National Music Festival.
Orion Academy placed second in the Tourism Quiz sponsored by the Dominica Hotel & Tourism Association (DHTA) which sought to familiarize students with the Tourism Industry.
Orion's Environmental Club won First Place in the Dominica Youth Environment Organization competition for World Environment Day.
Orion Academy has adopted a section of a local river as part of its Caring for the Environment Project. In June 2007, students organized a clean-up campaign to help beautify the area.
Our CXC Pass Rates are significantly higher than the on-island average.
Based on results of the May 2007 CXC Examinations, Orion is considered to be in the top quartile of secondary schools on the island.
Over the years, Orion graduates have matriculated to tertiary studies locally, regionally, and in the USA and Canada. Currently Orion Academy alumni are studying at the Dominica State College, Princeton University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Escuela Latino Americana de Medicina, as well as numerous prep schools in the US and Canada.
